Original era manufacture. Experimental bayonet from the early 1870s. The blade is clean, displaying a dark steel patina on the underside, with no corrosion pitting, just typical staining and discoloration from age. Top side a good bit of the original blue finish remains, along with good blue finish on the shank and lock.
