Original era manufacture. A very clean example, featuring a blue steel finished socket bayonet, with a clear US stamped into the steel at the base of the blade. Most of the original satin blue finish remains, with scattered spots of surface staining in the steel.Matching finish to the socket with a movable locking ring, with faint lettering done by an electric pencil WB 01879 on the side of the socket.Dent free steel scabbard displaying a mix of steel patina and blue to the surface, no corrosion pitting. Early pattern leather frog with a brass US disc.
