Original era manufacture. An 1881 pattern helmet, with an 1899  Horstmann contract stamp inside the sweatband.The helmet body is not crushed or broken, and only displays mounting holes for one set of insignia, as shown.   The thin leather band around the base of the helmet is intact.Artillery pattern eagle plate with Artillery side buttons and cord suspension loops. Original plume, with proper pattern, but post era production cords and waffles.
