Original era manufacture. Bright polished steel blade with a US & 1896 date on the  ricassos. The blade displays evidence of a poor attempt  at edge sharpening, and areas of cleaned corrosion pitting on both sides of the blade. Slight tweak to the point. Original finish to the wooden grips, displaying typical marring and denting from service use. Clean, steel patina finish to the guard and pommel. Second pattern Krag scabbard with a mix of blue and surface corrosion finish, with a few minor blobs of garage paint.
