Original era manufacture. Polished steel blade with a 1900 date on the ricasso, looks like the there was an old attempt to lightly sharpen the edge. Steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, original finish grips with minor marring from service use and wear. First pattern blue steel finished scabbard, showing scattered spots of surface corrosion and staining. Simple hook attachment rather than the more complicated later style with the wire locking system.
