Original era manufacture. Double breasted, dark blue wool frock coat with rimless Engineer pattern buttons throughout, excepting the screw-on shoulder buttons which are eagles. Single cuff loop for the rank for a 1st Lieutenant. Installed by a previous owner are a pair of WWII era Engineer officer collar insignia, pinned on each cuff. In the collar is The Cadet Store, West Point tailor tag, and the right side interior pocket has a similarly maker named label, with the owners name, Cress and a date of 1-26-14. I believe this uniform was purchased and worn by James B. Cress 1891-1967, West Point Class of 1914. A career engineer corps officer who retired as a Major General and died in Palo Alto California. General Cress served in WWI and WWII and earned the Legion of Merit and I believe the Bronze Star. We acquired the coat from the estate of a long-time California collector. Copied research material included. Very clean condition, no moth issues to report, size about a 38 long, no shoulder boards.
