Original era manufacture. Fine quality US Army Staff officers dress hat, in the rank of a Field Grade officer, Major to Full Colonel. Dark blue wool body, with a large gilt eagle insignia directly embroidered into the hat. Black ribbed band flanked with two gold brocade bands for Staff. Black patent leather bound visor with gold wire embroidered oakleaves stitched directly into the surface. Complete interior with a fairly sound leather sweatband, size about a 7 1/4. Gold brocade adjustable chinstrap secured with two Minnesota State buttons. Shows normal age and wear, no moth issues. wear and fraying to the underside of the visor trim. The black Staff trim has faded, now exhibiting a purplish hue.
