Original era manufacture. This rather mousey looking old sword almost didn't get purchased. That is, until I picked it up and looked at the maker, in this case, a retailer, Francis Bannerman of New York. In all aspects, this is just a standard 1902 pattern Army officers sword, just one of a zillion or so that are out there. It shows typical wear and service use for its age, the top branch of the guard is pushed down a bit and there are some nail catchers on the edge. Standard blade etching on each side of the blade. On the ricasso is the retailers name, Francis Bannerman, 501 Broadway, New York, NY. The alltime best Military shop that ever existed in the USA, likely the world.
