Original era manufacture. Army officers dress coat pattern of 1902, 1st Lieutenant loops on the cuff, Cavalry trimmed collar, with sew-on 1st Cavalry, C Troop emblems on each cuff. The coat is tailor marked Cadet Store USMA, with a 4-12-13 date and named to Sliney, with the name Phillips below. Full complement of rimmed eagle buttons remain, no moth issues to mention, however the cavalry yellow silk collar material shows damage. George Wesley Sliney, 1889-1966, West Point Class of 1913, born in Wyoming, he was the son of a US Army Indian War veteran spending his early childhood years at various military posts in the West. He served during WWI as a Major, during WWII he served in the CBI earning the Silver Star. There is a good deal of information regarding General Sliney online and further efforts should provide an excellent research project, He died in 1966 and is buried at the National Cemetery in San Francisco, the area where this coat surfaced.
