Original period manufacture. Clean, blue finished blade with clear markings on the ricasso. There are a few minor nicks or bumps in the edge, more felt than seen. Dark rough finished walnut grips in good repair with no cracks or chips. Sound khaki canvas covered wooden scabbard with a leather tip. The tip leather is dry and flaking in spots but not torn through, the stitching remains sound. We don't see too many RIA marked bayonets, usually they are Springfield Arsenal marked.
