Original period manufacture. Without a doubt, this is one of the finest US M1905 bayonets we have ever offered, the classic service bayonet of the AEF 1917-1918. Blue steel finished to the RIA 1917 marked blade, serial number 261152, with nearly 100% of the finish remaining. Matching blue finish to the guard and pommel, with a nice pair of rough-hewn walnut grips with a gloss to the surfaces. The lock button works as it should. Tan canvas covered wooden scabbard body with the M1910 belt hook at the top. And the tip, a russet leather covering with secure stitching, unmarked. No staining to the canvas, overall the bayonet is in very fine condition.
