Original period manufacture. I purchased this lot last year at the SOS in Louisville, thinking to add it to my own collection. However this is now being offered here on our site for sale. The lot includes his Mexican Border Service Medal, #4390, in it's numbered box, with the same number appearing on the medal's edge. His name and the number match in both the numeric and nominal Border Service medal roll books by Planchet Press. WWI Victory Medal with FRANCE Clasp, also in it's issue box with ribbon bar, a pair of stamped aluminum WWI Identity tags named to Daniel J. Gallant. In the Planchet books he is shown serving with H Troop, 3rd US Cavalry. In addition, a WWI Victory Medal awarded by the town of Enfield Ct is included, and a copy photo of a well armed cavalryman of the era, reported to be of Corporal Gallant. Original ribbons throughout. Nice grouping worthy of further research.
