Original era manufacture. Heavy, French inspired cavalry sabre, with the bright polished steel blade running straight and true.No issues with the blade beyond some minor spotting to the surface. US and inspector proofed RC on the obverse ricasso,and on the reverse, N.P. AMES CABOTVILLE 1847.Brass patina finish to the three branch guard, which is also inspector proofed on the pommel R.C. Original leather covering to the tapered grip,but most of the original wire binding is missing.Two suspension ring steel scabbard in very sound condition, which is also inspector proofed R.C. on the drag.
