Original era manufacture. Heavy, French inspiredlight artillery sabre, with the bright polished steel blade running straight and true.No issues with the blade beyond typical spotting to the surface from age, no corrosion pitting.US and inspector proofed NWP on the obverse ricasso,and on the reverse, N.P. AMES CABOTVILLE 184 with the last digit either a 7 or pehaps 9.Original leather wrapped grip bound with single strand, twisted brass wire. Old mellow patina to the guard and pommel. Slight rattle to the grip, with a thin gap between the guard and base of the grip.Two suspension ring polished steel scabbard, which is nearly dent free, showing staining from age and wear.
