Original era manufacture. A clean example retailed by Jacob Reed's & Sons of Philadelphia. The plated steel blade measures 32 inches in length with etched panels on both sides of the blade. The blade is clean, unsharpened, with no nicks in the cutting edge. Just minor age and wear. Alloy guard and backstrap with a molded black composition grip. Plated finish steel scabbard with two suspension rings with a dent on both sides of the scabbard (taxicab door?) about four inches above the drag. Missing one of the throat screws. The regulation US Army officers sword adopted in 1902 and still regulation today. I would date this example as prior to WWII, perhaps dating back to the First World War as well.
