Original era manufacture. A really nice grouping we purchased several years ago and have had hanging on a rack in the shop ever since, so we're way overdue to find him a new home. The lot consists of a 5-button fatigue blouse, issue blue wool trousers, Infantry enlisted pattern full dress tunic and the removable wool cape from his overcoat. These items were once worn by Private Henry O. Thompson, 1st Nebraska Infantry, who served with this regiment May 1898-June 1899, including combat in the Philippines during the Insurrection. Included with his uniforms is a copy of the book ""Inside the Fighting First" papers of a Nebraska Private in the Philippine War. Edited by Thomas Solevad Nielson, Lur publications 2001 and Ancestry.com print outs for Henry Thompson. The book is a compilation of his letters both written and recieved by him during his service. Many of his letters written describing activities in the Philippines are quite graphic, with language used which would be deemed unacceptable in today's PC world. The uniforms are very clean, all buttons are present and very minimal mothing. Tunic size is about a 38. Just a note, the white dots which appear on the cape in one of our photos are just a goof-up when using photoshop. No dots are on the garment.
