Original period collection. An interesting ephemera lot concerning Capt. Geo E. Albee, U. S. Army Retired, who, during the Civil War, served for a time with the Berdan Sharpshooters, and postwar earned the Medal of Honor for service against hostile Indians in Texas. The grouping includes an autographed commercial photo print of him taken on his 70th birthday, January 27, 1915. An assortment of period newspaper clippings concerning the burial of General Grant. In addition, a letter written by his second wife, dated November 10, 1923, advising a former comrade of Captain Albee's, of his passing and burial in Arlington Cemetery.
