Original era manufacture. A Civil War era, silver .25 cent piece, which has been artistically converted into a Veterans ID bagde. The obverse has been skimmed to a flat surface, then carefully engraved with the following in a cursive script; "CG, Co B 14th R, WVV.An attaching pin has been mounted to the reverse with the original details of the coin remaining visible. Slipped over the attaching bar of the pin is a nice bronze-gilt 30 mm GAR emblem with an enameled obverse.A nice little medal with loads of research potential. Normal age and wear, with a deep silver patina to the coin.
