Original period manufacture. Purchased by yours truly in 2021 from an EBAY auction of the medals & insignia, of Lt. James Stewart Brown, 6th Massachusetts Infantry, veteran of the Baltimore Riot in 1861. The type III GAR badge appeared in 1869, but was quickly redesigned as it resembled the Medal of Honor too closely. Included with the badge is a folio assembled by me of the other medals and insignia sold during the auction, in addition, a copied bio of Lt. Brown.
