Original era manufacture. Beautiful 10 karat gold Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States members badge, with original ribbon, numbered on the loop, #8205. This number was assigned to Lieutenant Alexander S. Buchanan, who served with the 10th Missouri Infantry during the Civil War, August 1861-December 1863. During his time of service with the 10th Missouri Infantry, he saw combat at the following battles and engagements, Siege of Corinth, Iuka, Second Battle of Corinth, Yazoo Pass Expedition, Port Gibson, Raymond, Champion Hill and the Siege of Vicksburg, where the 10th Missouri participated in the bloody May 19th & 22nd assaults on the city's defenses.
