Original era manufacture. Gold members badge, with original ribbon, numbered on the loop, 12727. This is the badge number given to 2nd Lieutenant Henry H. Moore, of the 19th Battery, New York Light Artillery. Born in 1840, he enlisted on the 19th October 1862, and served through the war until mustered out in June of 1865. During the course of the Civil War, the 19th New York Light Artillery Battery, suffered the loss of 31 of its number to combat and disease. On the 25th of March 1865, 2nd Lieutenant Moore and 12 enlisted men were captured during a dawn raid on Fort Stedman during the Siege of Petersburg.
