Original period manufacture. Aluminum disc with stamped numbers and letters. Henry F. Dreyer, PVT, 57th Inf, U.S.A. 1,031,410. Ancestry shows a Henry F. Dreyer (Jr.) born 1922, enlisting in the army in 1940, discharged in 1945, reenlisting in 1946 and again discharged in 1948. The 57th Infantry was transferred (without personnel) to the Philippine Department in 1939, becoming the famous Philippine Scouts. An Ancestry listing in Scanned Photos & Public Documents shows a Henry F. Dreyer Jr. serving with the 515th Parachute Infantry, and, reportedly making two combat jumps. Needless to say further research needs to be done on this one.
