Original era manufacture. A nifty little set-up made by Western of Boulder Colorado. This can be used as either a knife or hatchet, both fitting nicely in the combined leather sheath.The polished steel blade measures just under 5 inches in length (the tip has been blunted), with a sharp cutting edge. The knife blade can be removed by lifting the small triangular shaped lock beneath the guard, the blade can then be removed and the hatchet head inserted.Minor staining to the metal surfaces, no corrosion issues. The sheath is of leather secured with stitching and rivets, displaying typical age and wear. the pommel strap is intact but weak on one side.
