Original era manufacture. A very nice quality 55mm table medal in light bronze displaying the profile of American Naval Hero, John Paul Jones on the obverse. On the reverse the battle between the USS Bon Homme Richard and HMS Serapis which occured on the 23rd of September 1779. It was during this engagement that Jones spoke the famous words "I have not yet begun to fight" when asked if he was ready to surrender by the English Captain.
