Original era manufacture. A nice quality sword, with a six-pointed star proof mark on the obverse ricassso, and on the reverse, the NS Meyer Conqueror Brand trademark. The blade is rather short, only 26 inches with etched designs on each side of the blade. Very ornate gilded brass guard with the letters USN. Shagreen wrapped grip which is bound with triple strand wire, and an original sword knot wrapped around the guard. Leather covered metal bodied  scabbard with gilded brass fittings. Overall quite clean with normal age and wear in evidence. Doing a quick price check online, new production Navy officer swords are currently offered in the $400-$600 price point.
