Original period manufacture. A more current production, crimp brooch Purple Heart, named to Elmer Holliday on the reverse. Cased, complete with lapel pin and ribbon bar. Doing a quick search on Ancestry, a number of men named Elmer Holliday appear to have served in WWII, perhaps this is a replacement medal for one of them.
