Original era manufacture. A nice quality sword, with Vanguard V21-N stamped blade. Etched designs on each side of the blade. Very ornate gilded brass guard with the letters USN. Ivory color imitation fish skin wrapped grip which is bound with triple strand wire, with an original sword knot wrapped around the guard. Leather covered metal bodied scabbard with gilded brass fittings. Overall quite clean with normal age and wear in evidence. Doing a quick price check online, new production Navy officer swords are currently offered in the $400-$600 price point, this is an older sword from a well established military retailer.
