Original era manufacture. A cold war era, German made, regulation USMC NCO sword. This model sword is based on the Civil War era 1850 Foot Officers sword, but using a different suspension system for carry.Stainless steel, triple etched blade measuring 32 inches in length, no issues to report, bright and clean, running straight and true.The reverse ricasso displays the importer, or retailers name, Hilborn Hamburger Inc of New York, and made in Solingen Germany.Gilded brass guard and pommel, leather bumper at the base of the blade, leather wrapped grip bound with single strand wire.Heavy steel scabbard which is covered in a fine black leather showing minor wear to the surface consisting of minor scuffs and bumps, no splits or cracks in the leather. The throat and drag are also of gilded brass, but each displays a coat of old gold paint, perhaps down back in the time to keep from having to polish the metal. Number 32 can be seen on the scabbard throat and guard. A solid German quality USMC NCO sword.
