Original era manufacture. Bright steel construction with a U over U.S. stamped on the base of the blade. Spotting and staining to the metal surfaces no real corrosion issues. See page 45 & 50, Figure B60, in the book "American Socket Bayonets & Scabbards", by Robert M. Reilly. Overall length is 19 inches, blade length 15.75 inches, muzzle opening 21 mm.
