Original era manufacture.An 1838 dated example of the US Army Rifleman's Flask, also known as the Peace Flask, made by Ames.This example is complete with its adjustable powder measure spout and the two carrying rings on the body. Dated 1838 on the base of the spout. No dents, nice old patina finish, on the negative side there is a split in the seam on the bottom. Still displays nicely.
