Original era manufacture. A very clean, near new condition, in a green canvas material, with a U.S. stencil on the flap. The interior of the haversack is maker marked Rock Island Arsenal, and dated 1914.The reverse of the haversack is fitted with two snap hooks, which were intended to allow the soldier to attach it to an ammunition belt, rather than be suspended by a shoulder strap as in the past.
