Original era manufacture. Nice quality of multi-piece construction in what appears to be a darkened bronze color finish. Adopted by the Army in 1907 for the National Guard in bronze color and later in silver color for the regular army. This may be a very darkened silver patina example but the suspension rings are bronze color.  See Emerson, Marksmanship in the US Army, page 42-43.
