US Pre WWI Army Canteen, Cup and Eagle Snap Cover, Unit Marked

Original era manufacture. Scarce, early production 1910 pattern canteen, featuring an aluminum body without side seams, unmarked, with an aluminum wire collar holding the machined aluminum cap. Matching period aluminum cup with a folding alloy handle, no manufacturer's markings. Pale green canvas canteen cover with army pattern rimless eagle securing buttons, and stenciled unit markings for a  Signal Corps unit. On the reverse of the cover is V-shaped securing strap with a darkened steel snap hook.  The canteen retains it's cap cork with minor wear and use to the body.  The cover displays strong colors and clear markings with typical staining from service use, two spots of fabric fraying at the corners of the flaps. The cover is sound, no dry rot, but use care when removing the cup so as to not aggravate the fraying.
