Original period manufacture. All aluminum construction with a three point riveted handle. Clear U.S. and R.I.A. 1908 markings. The narrow rectangular slot is for the blade tip of the mess knife, or tines of the mess fork, to allow the soldier to hold the cup over a cooking fire. Normal age and wear.
