Original era manufacture. Produced by Swank Hardware is this 50 mm darkened brass medallion celebrating the centennial of Johnstown Pennsylvania 1800-1900.On the 31st of May 1889 Johnstown Pa. suffered a horrific catastrophe, when the South Fork Dam 14 miles away upriver, collapsed after heavy rains. The subsequent onrush of around 20,000,000 tons of water nearly destroyed the town and killed at least 2,209 of its inhabitants.
