Original era issue. This interesting grouping of 10, pre WWI marksmanship and shooting badges, were earned by Lieutenant G.N. Walling, Kansas National Guard. Several of the medals were awarded for a competition held at Fort Riley Kansas in 1914, with a 1911 Second Place, United Service Trophy Medal being named on the reverse to him. The medal with the red/white/blue ribbon is of particular interest, being an award of the prestigious Henry Hilton Trophy, Class B, First Prize. It is not named, and is in the form of the larger Hilton Trophy, donated to the National Rifle Association in 1878. The ribbon is in fair condition. A nice grouping with excellent research potential. A family member brought these in to a local gunshop, where we then purchased them.
