Original era manufacture. Bright finished blade with US and serial number on one side, and SA Ordnance Bomb 1914 on the other. The blade is clean, displaying scattered spotting and staining from age and use. Nicely carved walnut grip with finger grooves, showing a large chip in the top of the right side grip plate. Brass guard and pommel cap. Large brass scabbard throat with a Krag type belt hanger. Our seller stated that the leather body of the scabbard was replaced, done at the request of a longtime, well known local collector. If that is indeed the case, the leather smith did one heck of a job as his work is excellent.
