Original period manufacture. Bright finish, 16 inch blade in original polish, clear RIA 1906 proofs on the ricasso. No corrosion issues, just some light spotting and staining from age and storage. Blue finish guard and pommel with an operable lock mechanism. Rough hewn walnut grips in original finish, no cracks or chips.First model leather covered scabbard with the Krag-type swivel suspension bar. The leather is sound, stitching is tight, with a brass grommet on the tip for drainage. Dark blue finish to the scabbard throat, which is missing one of the rivet heads on the front side. There is a light dusting of surface corrosion on the belt swivel and throat, but very minor. Sound 110 year old bayonet made by the less commonly seen Rock Island Arsenal.
