Original period manufacture. A complete example of the bayonet pattern adopted for use with the M1903 Springfield Rifle prior to WWI.1907 blade date on the blade ricasso, made by Rock Island Arsenal. The blade is  finished in the bright with clear markings, with a single nick in the cutting edge. Blue and steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, the lock mechanism works properly. Original, rough hewn wood grips with a dark finish, with a small chip on the top at the back of the guard. The leather covering on the wooden bodied scabbard is scuffed towards the lower third of the body, with the stitching slightly opened, but with a nice luster to the surface and clear markings.Blue steel finished, Krag style hanger with scattered spots of surface corrosion. Blade is a bit of a snug fit, with the lock mechanism working as it should.
