Original period manufacture. A very clean example of the classic WWI Springfield rifle bayonet, dark finish to the blade, no nicks in the cutting edge, and the point is sharp. Matching finish to the guard and pommel with an operable lock button. Rough hewn walnut grips with a smooth finish. The canvas covered wooden scabbard is sound, with stitching on one side typical of Marine pattern scabbards. In addition, the large USMC belt hook is on the reverse. Overall a very clean example of the WWI US service bayonet.
