Original period manufacture. Long (16 inches) bright finished blade with a hooked guard and wood grips. Black painted steel scabbard with a black leather attached belt loop. I believe this was for a rolling block pattern rifle, which were exported during the late 19th Century. Wood grips show some staining around the screw escutcheons, steel patina finish to the blade and guard. Belt frog is a bit dry but no rot.
