Original era manufacture. Green canvas cover with crossed riflesstencil on the body, with two darkened brass, rimless,eagle-snap closure buttons. No visible maker markings or date, the cover is basically sound, showing normal use and age, with a short suspension strap on the reverse. Early production, seamless body, aluminum canteen, with a flat-topped, machined aluminumcap with original cork. Standard WWI canteen cup, with a folding alloy handle. No markings to the base of the cup.Normal age and wear overall, a scarce early issue canteen set.
