Original period manufacture. This is quite an interesting little album, one we found while digging through some boxes of old inventory (guess we should look more often). Basically, this is a small format album, roughly 8x5x1 inches, containing 22 radiograms, telegrams and the like, sent by and recieved by, one Dr.Guy Shirey, who served as MD for the 2nd Byrd Expedition to Antartica in 1933-34. Many of the messages originated onboard the SS Jacob Rupert one of the two ships which carried the expedition to Antarctica. Mostare addressed to Mrs Shirey in Long Beach California. One is from the Admiral himself commending the Doctor for his good work. In addition, a BW postcard of a Navy CPO and hisHuskie is included.The covers are missing from the album which result indamage to the first radiogram. Great research potential...
