Original era manufacture. A fine quality, Field Grade (Major-Full Colonel), Army officers dress hat by the prestigious firm of Luxenberg. Midnight blue wool top, with a gilt brass eagle insignia, Infantry blue ribbed material cap band with two bands of gold brocade, black wool covered visor which has gold oakleaves directly embroidered into the body of the visor. Secured with two eagle buttons, is a gold brocade adjustable chinstrap. Size marked 7 1/4 no moth issues, bullion decoration has toned over the years, Luxenberg marked in two locations.
