Original era manufacture. A fine quality, multi-piece construction, gilded brass buckle, made by the firm of S.N. Meyer of Washington D.C., which should not to be confused by the more commonly seen NS Meyer. According to an online source, SN Meyer closed it's doors in 1935, and reportedly was in business in the D.C. area dating back to the Civil War. The overall width of the buckle measures 3 inches (about 72 mm), and is very well made. Maker marked on the reverse.
