Original period manufacture. Clean example with its original ribbon, nicely engraved on the reverse with the Marine's name and service enlistment date.No A437, Lawrence P. Lakeman 1934 - 1938.Checking Ancestry, I found 67 listings in the Marine muster rolls for this name from 1934-1945. The individual served for a time aboard the USS Wyoming, Olangapo Philippine Islands in 1936; during WWII he served for a time at the Marine Barracks Washington D.C., and in April-July 1945 1st Separate Engineer Battalion, FMF IIIrd Amphibious Corps, which I believe was involved in active operations during the invasion of Okinawa.
