Original era manufacture. OK, I will be the first to admit, I haven't a clue about these nice old shoes are age-wise. I know that canvas lined shoes were issued in the US military in the late-19th century, but these Navy marked shoes I can remember passing through our hands.Smooth black leather uppers with a white canvas lining, black cloth laces with plastic tips. The leather soles are clearly marked Leo.F.Fitzgerald, Inspector, USN, size marked 7F.The shoes exhibit minimal wear, and are property marked to a John W. Mrock on the inside of the ankle in several places. I did a quick check on Fold3, and found several listings for a John William Mrock who enlisted in the US Navy in 1943, he was from the Phoenix area, so perhaps these were his.
