Original era manufacture. Dating to approximately 1776-1780, hand forged iron construction, and purchased here in Arizona from a collector of early American & European artifacts. He stated that it was a purchase out of an old Massachusetts area collection, referencing the book, "Battle Weapons of the American Revolution", page 368, Figure 5.PPA for a near perfect match.Measures 17 3/4 inches in height, 9 1/4 inches in width, deep iron patina finish, with scattered pitting, but quite sound.
