Original period photography. Cabinet Card format, sepia tone image of a US Army Commissary Sergeant standing before a field tent in a semi-permanent camp. He wears on his waist an NCO belt with eagle plate and in this right hand he holds a US Model 1840 NCO Sword. Five button fatique coat, trousers, gaiters and campaign hat complete his uniform.
