Original period coin. Morgan silver dollar, minted at the San Francisco Mint in 1878, 90% silver coin, with good surface details, cleaned at some time in the past. Around 5,000,000 to 6,000,000 Morgan dollars were minted at San Francisco that year. New Haven Connecticut, the first commercial telephone exchange was established, Proctor & Gamble introduces Ivory Soap, President Rutherford B. Hayes invites local children to participate in an Easter Egg roll. Battle of Punished Woman Fork, Chiefs Dull Knife and Little Wolf of the Northern Cheyenne, lead their people in rebellion and flight from confinement and starvation in Indian Territory to their homelands in the north. They make their final stand in Scott County Kansas, fighting against the US Cavalry.
